Extra 200/300L/330LX

GyroFX PRO flight recorder with Internal GPS. This is a typical installation in a two seater Extra. The flight recorder is stuck to the top of the instrument panel using the supplied self-adhesive GoPro feet.

Extra NG

GyroFX PRO flight recorder with Internal GPS. The Extra NG has a hard wood panel mounted on top of the instrument panel. The flight recorder is screwed firmly onto the wooden panel to give a very rigid fitting.

Pitts Special S1S

GyroFX PRO flight recorder with Internal GPS. The flight recorder is mounted on the parcel shelf behind the pilot using the supplied self-adhesive GoPro feet. The fuselage above the parcel shelf is constructed from plywood, so the GPS satellite signals are clear.

DIY Flight recorder running ArduPilot (similar specification to GyroFX BASIC). The flight recorder (with internal GPS) is mounted on the parcel shelf behind the pilot. The fuselage above the parcel shelf is constructed from plywood, so the GPS satellite signals are clear.

Slingsby Firefly

GyroFX BASIC flight recorder with Internal GPS. With a low-power 160hp engine, slow roll rate and restricted to +6g/-3g, the affordable BASIC flight recorder works well. It is simply stuck to the top of the instrument panel using the supplied self-adhesive GoPro feet.

(This is an out of date photo showing an earlier installation with just one foot. It was found that this was unstable with vibration and was changed to the standard GyroFX mounting with two feet, which is much more rigid.)

Silence Twister

GyroFX BASIC flight recorder with Internal GPS. With only a 100hp engine, slow roll rate and restricted to +6g/-4g, the affordable BASIC flight recorder works well.

There was no room for the flight recorder on the instrument panel, so it was placed in the luggage locker behind the pilot. Despite the box being mounted on the floor of the locker, surrounded by the fibre glass fuselage, the flight recorder obtains good GPS signals and performs well.

ASK21 Glider

GyroFX BASIC flight recorder with Internal GPS. With no engine, very slow roll rate and restricted to +6g/-4g, the affordable BASIC flight recorder works well.

There was no room for the flight recorder on the instrument panel, so it was placed in a small locker in the root of the starboard wing. Despite the box being surrounded by the fibre glass wing, the flight recorder obtains good GPS signals and performs well.
